Walk Away from Your Restaurant

  • Small Plate Hospitality

All the accolades in the world are no trade for your freedom. As a successful restaurant owner, you deserve a life outside your restaurant. In fact, the real sign of success in our industry is being able to enjoy your free time while your restaurant hums along... without you.

Last night, I was watching the new cooking competition show, America’s Culinary Cup. One of the competitors was sharing how the substantial prize money would change her life. I figured she’d tell us that one million dollars would go toward producing a cooking show, writing a cookbook, or opening a second location.

Nope. She wants to use the prize money to stop working 80 hours a week. She wants to spend time with her family, take care of her health, and enjoy the fruits of her labor.

This is a James Beard Award winner and a Michelin-starred chef, and she still can’t step away from her restaurant.

I wish I could say I was shocked, but the truth is, most restaurant owners fall into the same trap. When you own a restaurant, it’s easy to believe everything will fall apart if you take a break.

But all the accolades in the world are no trade for your freedom. As a successful restaurant owner, you deserve a life outside your restaurant. In fact, the real sign of success in our industry is being able to enjoy your free time while your restaurant hums along... without you.

That’s why I’m launching Dream Team, an online training starting next Monday, April 20th. This program focuses on using a 15-minute daily lineup to build a crew that runs on autopilot. Through self-paced exercises you can complete during breaks in your busy day, you’ll learn how to make concrete changes that help you create a team you can love... and leave.

Registration is now open, so go save your spot today.

Small Plate Hospitality helps busy restaurant owners build a business they can love... and leave. Check out our online training here.
